Types of container ships 2021-06-20 18:11:29 Container ships are a special type of ship developed with the development of the late 1950s, and are mainly used to transport container cargo. Due to the changes in the supply of container shipping routes, the development of container intermodal transportation and the needs of ship operation, Guangzhou-Longyan logistics has caused great changes in the way of loading containers, which has also produced many different types of container ships. (1) Hoisting container ship Hoisting container ship, also known as hoisting and disembarking, refers to a container ship that uses a loading and unloading bridge on the ship or at the front of the dock to unload containers from the ship or load it onto the ship from the front of the dock. There are three types of container ships of this type. ①Full container ship. This is a ship that specializes in shipping containers and does not carry other types of goods. ② Semi-container ship. The middle area of u200bu200bthe captain is used as a dedicated cargo hold for containers, and the cargo holds at both ends of the ship are loaded with groceries. ③Multi-purpose container ship. It is also called a convertible container ship. It is actually a multi-purpose ship. The cargo compartment of this ship can be changed at any time according to the needs. It can not only load containers, but also other ordinary groceries, so as to improve the utilization rate of the ship. , It has high economic efficiency. (2) A ro-ro container ship uses a semi-trailer loaded with containers or a pallet loaded with cargo as a freight unit, and the tractor or forklift directly enters the ship's loading and unloading ship through the opening at the side, bow or stern of the ship. , Called ro-ro ship. This kind of ship has also experienced three generations of development. The first generation has a load of about 18,500 tons and is equipped with S54 standard containers, and the speed is 24 nautical miles/hour; the second generation has a load of about 22,000 tons and is equipped with 1,400 standard containers, and the speed is 'nautical mile/hour; The third-generation has a load of about 500 tons, 1700 TEUs, and a speed of 224 nautical miles/hour. This kind of ship is mainly used to transport cars and containers. It does not need loading and unloading equipment. Generally, there are open slopes on the side of the ship or the bow and stern of the ship to connect to the dock. When loading and unloading goods, the car or container (mounted on the trailer) directly enters or Get out of the cabin. The advantage of this kind of ship is that it does not rely on the loading and unloading equipment on the dock, and the loading and unloading speed is fast, which can accelerate the turnover of the ship. (3) Barge-carrying container ship A barge-carrying container ship, also known as a mother ship, refers to a ship that loads a barge with containers into a mother hull, and the mother ship carries a barge for sea transportation. It is to load the cargo on a square cargo barge (child ship) of uniform specifications, and then load the cargo barge on the loading barge (mother ship). After the cargo barge arrives at the port of destination, the cargo barge is unloaded to the surface. Then the tugboat will distribute them to their respective destinations. The characteristic of the barge is that it does not need a wharf or a storage yard, has high loading and unloading efficiency, and is convenient for sea-river combined transportation. The loading and unloading efficiency of a barge is generally 30 to 60 times higher than that of a general cargo ship. It is 3 to 4 times higher than a full container ship. Due to the intermodal transport, the transportation cost per ton of cargo on a barge is about 20% lower than that of a general cargo ship. This kind of ship can carry various kinds of cargo, such as groceries, pallet cargo, bulk cargo, liquid cargo and containers, and has greater adaptability to cargo types. Barge-type container ships are generally divided into two types: ordinary barge-type cargo ships and seabee-type barge-type cargo ships. ①Ordinary barge cargo ship. It is also known as the 'Rasi' type cargo ship. Like a full container ship, it is also a ship with a compartment structure. There are many barge compartments in the cabin. Each barge compartment can be loaded with 4 layers of barges, and the deck can be stacked. Installed on 2 floors. ② Seabee-type barge cargo ship. It is also known as the 'Sibbi' type cargo ship, which is characterized by no hatches. The cabin is equipped with three full decks. The loading and unloading of the barge depends on the lifting platform and the trolley horizontal rolling loading and unloading barge set in the stern lifting shaft. 1293
